The first blockchain-secured platform for real estate recordkeeping chosen as a finalist for industry event

Delaware, USA — May 29, 2017 — Ubitquity LLC, a Blockchain company offering a simple user experience for securely recording and tracking property deeds, is pleased to announce that it has been selected as a finalist in the inaugural Smart Dubai Office Blockchain Challenge May 29–30 in Dubai, UAE.

“We are incredibly excited and honored to participate in the upcoming Smart Dubai Blockchain Challenge. Our involvement in the challenge will demonstrate to the judges and the government of Dubai the power and benefits of using blockchain-powered recordkeeping with Ubitquity,” said Ubitquity LLC Founder & President, Nathan Wosnack. “Our platform, currently in a pilot with the land records bureau in Brazil and other stealth users, will bring greater accuracy and immutability to property ownership data handled by the government of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. We’re excited for our VP of Technology / Developer Jacob Robinson to participate in the pitch competition.”

According to Smart Dubai Office (SDO) and 1776 (a global incubator and seed fund), the event was created in an effort to identify game-changing applications of blockchain technology in any industry. Blockchain technology has the potential to improve people’s lives, and Dubai is poised to be a leader in moving such applications forward.

As one of twenty finalists, Ubitquity will participate in a two-day program that includes a pitch competition to an audience of investors, experts, private and public institutions. First place winners will receive a grand prize of US $20K, followed by $15K for runner up, and $10K for third prize, along with the opportunity to implement their product or service in Dubai for 2020.

“Dubai, in keeping with their style, has taken on a leadership role in government interest in blockchain solutions. They see the value and I believe they intend to follow through. This is a bold city,” said VP of Technology/Developer, Jacob Robinson. “This is a great opportunity for Ubitquity to show the Smart Dubai Office and their partners at 1776 what our idea of a blockchain solution looks like.”

The Dubai Blockchain Strategy is based on three pillars on which it plans to apply blockchain technologies to achieve the goal of full blockchain integration to the city by 2020: 1. Government Efficiency: Implementing blockchain technology in government services. 2. Industry Creation: Supporting the creation of a blockchain industry through empowering startups and businesses, and 3. Thought Leadership: Leading the global thinking on blockchain technology.
